Black Market Bikes is proud to announce the the arrival of our prototype short travel frame…the “Killswitch”. We worked closely with Pablo Tafoya in developing our “Hammer-Link” design, creating a truly low profile suspension frame. The Hammer-Link provides 4 inches of rear wheel travel while maintaining a stiff, flickable feel with short 16” chainstays and the lowest seat height of any suspension frame….period. The Killswitch has the ability to be run single speed or geared for true versatility.
**Information Update – estimated US retail $1600 for the frame and spring 2010 as the release date if all goes well**

Over 40 mountain bikers gathered for 5 days of singletrack goodness on the Kettle Crest trail system in Eastern Washington for the 2009 Kettle Crest Advocacy Fest. The Kettle Crest trail system is rugged, vast and mountainous, where the quality of riding is only surpassed by the variety of sub-alpine ecosystems and [...]

The Legend MK1 is Banshee’s first frame to foray into the downhill race scene, but I wouldn’t call the frame beginner’s luck. Many recall the burliness of Banshee in past years, via models such as the Scream and Morphine. Since then the boys over there have been busy combining the knowledge of how to build a strong and stiff frame, while applying some weight savings techniques resulting in a definite contender.

Fits like a glove? You bet…
First up lets clarify or not, as the case might be what “types” of gloves there are out there. You have all seen the huge knuckle and finger protection from Moto-X style gloves that have been adopted by the serious gravity descender and night club bouncer/doorman. Well, that was the case of days gone by, but it seems they are more into the lighter XC/All Mountain Glove these days. Visa Versa, you may often see the trail bandits fully protecting their paws…

It’s true, Chris Roberts has had the hill blessed and the demon weather they call the curse of Caersws is no longer! Friday night the Pinkbike UK Squadron was treated to a clear sky with a billion stars on show. Saturday morning, blue skies and a dusty track.
It was always going to be a good one, Caersws Cup roll on..

“Return To The Hill” DH Story and Results
It was dry, fast and really dusty. Intense/Crankbrothers’ Pro Bryn Atkinson and Speedy Beaver’s Dawn Fidler take the pro classes as Fluidride’s/Evil Luciano Worl takes the Junior Expert titles home. Several racers traveled the distance to race the now famous ‘Dry Hill’ trails located in beautiful Port Angeles WA and nobody left with a grumpy face. Well, maybe Kona’s photographer who sustained a wicked torn up knee injury walking down the course was the only one…
